Metal halide lamps are mercury lamps with metal halide additives that produce specific ultraviolet light wavelengths to precisely match the cured photoinitiator. The addition of metal halides causes a standard lamp to shift in the output spectrum, producing longer waves. These longer wavelengths allow a greater depth of cure to be achieved, which makes them particularly useful in curing very pigmented and thicker coatings.
Metal halide lamps are increasingly used in the printing industry as well as in many different industrial applications, such as the production of printed circuits, electronic components, fiber optic cables, CD / DVDs and wooden products.
